Disk Defrag Overview
Auslogics Disk Defrag is a compact defragmentation tool that supports FAT 16/32, and NTFS (with compressed and encrypted files). Home and corporate users will find Disk Defrag perfect for maintaining high-level disk performance.
Program Welcome Page
Check the box(es) next to the drive(s) you want to defragment. With Disk Defrag you can defragment removable drives such as USB keys, Flash Memory Cards and other removable drives.
Disk Fragmentation Map
You can watch Disk Defrag optimizing your disk on the disk fragmentation map. The map shows you color-coded disk clusters - red (fragmented files), blue (defragmented files), grey (free space), green (used space), purple (MFT), and yellow (files are being processed).
How Disk Defragmentation Works
Files on disk are often split into two or more pieces. In order to read those files, the disk reading heads have to move frequently, which slows down disk access and causes disk drive wear and tear. Defragmentation puts files back together, speeds up disk access, and prolongs the disk life.
Defragmentation Results
After disk defragmentation is complete you will be presented with defragmentation summary. You can click "View detailed report" to open a comprehensive defragmentation report with all defragmented files listed there.
Customizing appearance
You can customize the appearance of the program by changing the color theme of the fragmentation map.
