Technology in gaming is developing at insane speeds. Even just looking at the advancements made in the past few years shows how much progress has been made with amazing realistic graphics, smoother gameplay and bigger worlds. If you’re passionate about gaming, you probably want to keep up with all of this and get the newest, most exciting games. However, sometimes our computers struggle to keep up with our desires.

Buying all the latest releases of PC parts is not really feasible for most of us. Fortunately, there are other ways to improve your rig’s performance without breaking the bank. You could be surprised at the hidden potential your computer already has to run games much smoother than you expected.

What is Game Mode?

As one of the features under the ‘Optimize’ tab in Auslogics BoostSpeed, you can find several different modes to choose from to optimize your PC for different tasks. One of these is Game Mode, which is specifically designed to improve your experience when playing games by increasing your FPS rate and reducing lags. It does this by disabling processes that may be taking up resources and limiting your computer’s performance.

How to enable Game Mode

After launching Auslogics BoostSpeed, click the Optimize tab to open it. You will see that it is divided into a few sections.

On the left side of the window, you will see options for disk defragmentation (which, by the way, can also help with your PC’s performance for gaming).

The middle of the page is where you will find the list of modes to select from. Find ‘Game Mode’ and click to enable it. That’s it! Now you’re ready for an improved gaming experience.

Additionally, if you would like to customize this feature, you can find a gear icon beside the mode name. Click it and you will open settings that allow you to set up the mode to fit your specific preferences. There is also a ‘Custom Mode’ option that allows you to simply create your own mode and choose the tweaks this mode will apply, so in the future you can access it with just one click.
