If it is equal to or more than that, change the file\u2019s or folder\u2019s location so it has a shorter path. A typical file path looks like this:\u00a0 <i>C:\\Users\\Sam\\AppData\\Local\\EADesktop\\cache\\qmlcache<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>File of Folder Names<\/b><\/p>\n<p>OneDrive also prohibits using certain characters it refers to as invalid or illegal. These characters include: <i>| \/ &lt; * \\ : &gt; <\/i><i>?<\/i>Starting or ending the file name with a space is also prohibited. Additionally, OneDrive will not sync files and folders with the following names:<\/p>\n<h3><b>Manually Select the Folders to Sync<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>You should know that OneDrive cannot sync everything on your computer. This is simply impossible due to cloud storage constraints. To make the app\u2019s job easier, you can manually choose the folders OneDrive should sync. Every account has a free 5 GB allocation, but users must pay for more storage. So, it is time to upgrade if you notice that you have been syncing many files.<br \/>\nYou can follow these steps to confirm your storage details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Locate the <em>OneDrive<\/em> icon on the taskbar and right-click it.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Hit the <em>Gear<\/em> icon and then select <em>Settings<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">You will see your total and used <em>Storage<\/em> on the left side of the <em>OneDrive Settings<\/em> window. Similarly, the <em>OneDrive<\/em> web app shows your storage details on the left side of the screen once you open it.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">You can click the <em>Upgrade<\/em> or <em>Buy more storage<\/em> button to get more storage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can also delete unneeded files from your OneDrive cloud account to free up space for important uploads.<\/p>\n<h3>Reconnect to Your Microsoft Account<\/h3>\n<p>You can reconnect your Microsoft account to your Windows computer and check if that fixes the issue.
