Note: You have to add Last Oasis as an Exclusion or Exception whenever you update or reinstall it.

  • Launch Steam by clicking on its icon on your Desktop or by going through the Start menu if you don’t have a Desktop icon.
  • Once the Steam client opens, go to the top of the window and click on Library.
  • After the list of games attached to your Steam account appears, locate Last Oasis, right-click it, then select Properties.
  • Go to the Properties interface on the right side of the window and click on Local Files.
  • Click on the “Browse Local Files” button under the Local Files tab.
  • The game’s folder will now pop up.

  2. After the Properties dialog window opens, switch to the Compatibility tab.

  8. If you still can’t find the game in this view, go to the top-right corner of the window and click on the Browse option.
  9. Once the Browse dialog window comes up, go to Last Oasis’ installation folder and double-click its EXE file.
  10. You can now change the game’s Switchable Graphics mode to High Performance.

Using the NVIDIA Control Panel

  1. Right-click on your Desktop’s empty surface and click on NVIDIA Control Panel in the context menu.
  2. Once the NVIDIA Control Panel window shows up, go to the left pane, expand the 3D Settings drop-down, then click on Manage 3D Settings.
  3. Navigate to the right pane of the window and stay in the Global Settings tab.
  4. Expand the Preferred Graphics Processor drop-down and choose High-performance NVIDIA Processor.
  5. Next, head over to the Program Settings tab.
  6. Go to the Select a Program to Customize drop-down menu and click on Last Oasis.
  7. If the game isn’t among the programs in the drop-down menu, click on the Add button.
  8. Once the dialog window appears, navigate to Last Oasis’ installation folder and double-click its executable file.
  9. Once you’ve added and selected the game, navigate to the drop-down menu for “Select the preferred graphics processor for this program” and click the High-performance NVIDIA Processor option.
  10. Now, click on the Apply button and launch Last Oasis to check for performance improvements.

  1. Tap the Windows logo key or click on the Start button to open the Start menu. Once you the Start menu, click on the gear icon above the Power icon.
  2. You can launch the Settings app faster by pressing the Windows and I keys together.
  3. After you see the home screen of Settings, click on the System icon.
  4. Once the System interface surfaces, go to the bottom of the Display tab and click on the Graphics Settings link.
  5. Once the Graphics Settings screen opens, go to the “Choose an app to set preference” drop-down menu, select Classic App, then click on the Browse button under the menu.
  6. After the Browse dialog box shows up, navigate to Last Oasis’ installation folder and double-click its EXE file.
  7. Once Last Oasis’ entry appears on the Graphics Settings screen, click on it, then click on the Options button that fades out under it.
  8. The Graphics Specifications dialog will now open, displaying details of both GPUs. Your integrated card is the Power Saving GPU and your dedicated card is the High Performance GPU.
  9. Click the radio button for High Performance and click on Save.

Update Your Graphics Card Driver

If your GPU driver isn’t up to date, make sure you download and install its latest version. It is possible that the card’s driver is problematic and might be causing the game’s launching problem. There are different ways to update your graphics card driver, from using Windows Update to going to the website of the cards manufacturer and downloading the update.

  6. If there are available updates for your PC, however, the utility will begin to download them automatically. If it asks for permission to start downloading the updates, grant it.
  7. Once Windows Update successfully downloads the updates, it’ll automatically install them. If it needs to restart your PC to install the updates, click on the Restart Now button to permit it.
  8. Your computer will now reboot to the installation environment. The utility will restart your PC several times before the installation is complete.
  9. Once the updates are installed, your system will boot up normally. You can now run Last Oasis and check if it opens normally.

Using the Device Manager

You can use the Device Manager to search for updates online or install them directly from your computer. If you’re installing from your computer, you must have downloaded the updated driver from your card’s manufacturer’s website. However, it is best that you are allow the Device Manager to perform an automatic search and install the driver itself. The following steps will show you how to do that:

  1. Punch the Windows logo key and the S key simultaneously or click on the magnifying glass icon in the taskbar to open the search function beside the Start button.
  2. When the search utility opens, type “device manager” (without the quotes) into the text box and click on the first entry on the results list, which should be Device Manager.
  3. After the Device Manager window appears, navigate to the Display Adapters menu and click on the arrow beside it to expand it.
  4. Once you see your graphics card under the Display Adapters tree, right-click it, and then click on Update Driver in the context menu.
  5. After the Update Driver window appears, click on the “Search automatically for updated driver software” option under “How do you want to search for drivers” once the Update Driver window shows up.
  6. Windows will now search for the driver online, and then download and install it.
  7. Once the update process completes, reboot your PC and run Last Oasis to check for the problem.

Use an Automated Program

With the Device Manager and Windows Update, the success of downloading and installing the updated version of a graphics card driver depends on Microsoft’s release schedule. If Microsoft hasn’t published the driver updates, on its servers, Windows Update and Device Manager won’t be able to download and install them.
