With all the updates we’ve encountered, it is hard to believe that Windows 10 is just three years old. Since this operating system’s debut in July 29, 2015, Microsoft has been continuously pushing new features that will improve the users’ computing experience. Before, it took about three years for the tech giant to release the next major version of the OS. However, Microsoft has been dedicated to improving the system by regularly releasing updates. These days, it is common to see new changes in Windows 10 every couple of months.

How Has Windows 10 Changed in the Past Years?

As of this writing, there have been five versions of Windows 10 in the market. The following are the major updates that Microsoft has released since July 29, 2015:

  • Windows 10 Version 1511 (November 2015 Update)
  • Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update)
  • Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update)
  • Windows 10 Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update)
  • Windows 10 Version 1803 (April 2018 Update)

With this setup, the changes didn’t happen all at once. Instead, the operating system gradually transformed over various feature updates. If you compare Windows Vista and Windows 7, for instance, you would see that the changes were significant. These days, the updates released twice a year do not seem as big anymore. This is more convenient for users who do not like adjusting to a new operating system. Moreover, it allows Microsoft to release new features without waiting for three years.

? At first glance, it may seem like the OS has not changed that much since 2015. However, if you’ve been using it for three years, you would notice the significant updates. From the Start menu to the design language, almost everything has been refreshed or updated. Generally, Windows 10 has greatly improved since it was first released in 2015. Some of the notable new features include Timeline, Windows Ink Workspace, Continue on PC, and My People, among others.

What is New in Windows 10 Now?

When you compare the latest version of Windows 10 to the 1507 version from 2015, you will see how things have improved. When you look at it this way, it may feel as if the version that was debuted three years ago was unfinished. On the other hand, when you take the updates as they come, they would seem uneventful to you. This is probably for the best as users are not comfortable with Microsoft changing things.

Windows Update was also improved to handle the release of new features effectively. If the older version of this tool was incorporated into Windows 10, it might not be able to handle the big updates. It has been reported that Microsoft will use machine learning to identify the best schedule for installing a new update. By the way, if you need to update Windows 10 drivers, you can use Auslogics Driver Updater for the best results.

What most people have been talking about is the new feature called Sets. To be released with the Redstone Update, this feature will transform the way users interact with their computer. Basically, they will be able to bundle different apps under tabs.
