Frequently Asked Questions: Auslogics Registry Defrag

Question:

Why does Registry Defrag need to start when a computer starts?

Answer:

Registry Defrag needs to compact the registry which is only possible during reboot, when no other programs are running and using the registry. This is why Registry Defrag schedules itself to be started on the next reboot. Please note that it schedules itself to run only once. It will display a report of the defragmentation and the next time you restart your PC, Registry Defrag will not run anymore.
