Computers can be really frustrating, especially when all of a sudden they become slow and start freezing up. I know that when mine does that, I feel like throwing it out of the window! Why do they do that? Well, for a number of reasons – viruses and other malware, badly fragmented disks, too much junk, faulty apps, and other “joys” of Windows.

However, most likely it’s either a legitimate Windows processes or an application making life difficult. Some processes, like svchost.exe, are known to consume 80%-100% of CPU and some applications, like Firefox, can use large amounts of RAM. Whenever this happens, your computer becomes a lot slower and might start freezing up. Or the problem could be caused by malware pretending to be a harmless Windows process. That’s why it’s very important to know how each process affects your computer performance.

That’s why we created Fileinspect Sidebar Gadget. We though that opening the Task Manager, browsing through processes and then researching them online is more trouble than it’s worth and it’s a lot more convenient to have all the information you need in the sidebar.
