Recording Skype calls can be very useful, especially if you create podcasts, interview people over Skype, or just want to keep your own calls for later reference.

There are a lot of tools to record your Skype calls, like Pamela MP3 Call Recorder (open Skype and go to Tools - Extras - Record Skype Calls), Skylook, CallBurner, and many more. They all work. But they are NOT FREE.

Fortunately, there are a couple of FREE tools that are very easy to use:

1. Skype Call Recorder is really easy to use. It will record your Skype calls as MP3s. You can choose to record mono or stereo as well as BitRate. That’s pretty much it. In all, Skype Call Recorder is a hassle-free, fool-proof application.

System requirements: Windows 2000, XP, Vista; Net Framework 2.0 or later (will be installed automatically from Microsoft.com).

2. Another free application to record Skype calls is Call Graph. It records Skype calls in either MP3 (default) or Wav format and indexes them for search. It automatically tags the calls with the display name of the contact and offers automatic updates. Another good thing about it is that all Call Graph notifications are surprisingly not annoying – they appear over the task bar icon and don’t interfere with your call.

System requirements: Windows 2000, XP, Vista. Also remember that Skype authorization is required – without it Call Graph will only record one side of the call.
