So far Windows 7 is full of good surprises. There are two things that I particularly like, which offer new ways to manage and troubleshoot your PC with the help of Action Center and Windows Troubleshooting Platform.
If you need to check your PC status, just go to the new Action Center. You can find it by going to the Control Panel – System and Security – Action Center.
Windows 7 Action Center provides you with comprehensive system security information – you can check the status of your antivirus software, schedule backups, check for updates, and, most importantly, check out solution for most problems your computer experienced in the past. Also it lets you access Windows Troubleshooting Packs directly.
Windows Troubleshooting Platform allows you to easily troubleshoot common problems, such as hardware issues, Internet connection problems, system slow-downs, and so on. The main page of the Troubleshooting Platform offers you different categories: Programs, Devices, Network, Printing, Display, Sound, Performance, and Windows. You can find more troubleshooters by clicking on a category or using the Search box.
Using the Troubleshooting Platform can actually save a lot of time and sanity, since a lot of people won’t have to look for means of troubleshooting randomly and will actually know where to go if they start having any issues with their system. I’m really glad to see Microsoft adding really useful features to Windows and hope there will be more.
